We build brands that reflect your real-world experiences.
But how did we get here? Web design is where it all began – our founder, Will Stogdale has been a self-taught web designer for 7 years, which is how Boost came about in 2019, with a clear vision to create stunning web designs using Webflow. This was a very intentional decision, and our commitment to Webflow set us apart, making Boost one of the few agencies in the UK to use this tool as our foundation. This allowed us to create websites that were not only visually beautiful, but functional and responsive, and brought us to where we are today.
Boost began to lift its wings and soar... Until the infamous pandemic hit, no more than eight months into launching the business. Of course, a turbulent time ensued, with plenty of ups and downs, losses and stresses, and moments of wanting to throw laptops out the window (perhaps not literally). Fortunately, during the course of the pandemic and beyond it, Will pulled together an incredibly talented team that persevered through it all, which is why we're still standing today, stronger than ever.
By mid-2023, we realised that we needed to go back to the drawing board and reassess the direction of Boost. With the increased popularity of Webflow, being a Webflow-specific agency was no longer going to bring us the growth we needed. The experts on the platform had exploded from just 50 to 1000+ worldwide over just a few years, and we knew we needed to pivot. Together, we brainstormed three niche sectors we might focus on, including financial services, B2B technology, and travel and leisure. For a few different reasons, it was decided travel and leisure was the best fit for Boost's future and success.
Both Will, our founder, and Soraia, our Head of Design, have personal ties to travel and tourism, which made the decision far easier. Will grew up in a family of travellers, as the son of renowned Kenyan hotelier David Stogdale, and brother of Sam Stogdale, co-founder of Africa Born. Soraia grew up shifting between Portugal and Mozambique, which sparked her love of flying and her desire to see more of the world. She is trained as a flight attendant and worked as a cabin crew for a few years before settling down to pursue her passion for design and marketing.
However, throughout their travels over more recent years, a pattern began to arise wherein a destination (be it a lodge, hotel, or bed and breakfast), would look alright online but stunningly exceed expectations when arriving in real life to check in. Destinations often elicited different emotions from what their websites and social pages seemed to convey, and the representation just wasn’t aligning. This problem seemed to extend to other kinds of travel brands as well, like agencies and tour operators, whose digital personas just didn’t match up with the magic experienced in person.
All of these gorgeous places and travel companies were grossly underselling themselves when it came to their online presence, and the Boost team simply couldn't help but feel they could do something about it. Thus, Boost started to evolve, leaning more and more into the travel and tourism sector as the whole team started to refine their focus and develop their skills in a particular direction, working specifically with luxury travel and leisure businesses worldwide.
Now, with our relaunch in 2024, we empower brands in the travel and leisure space to excel digitally, bringing their real-world impact to life on their online platforms. We create websites and brands that are authentic to the real thing, helping our clients find renewed success by showing their future guests what they’re truly made of.
By combining a brand’s unique insights with our digital innovation capabilities, we help build the foundation of their digital marketing strategy and translate the essence of their brand into a compelling digital presence, from UX and UI design to website copy and blog content. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for travel, we craft experiences that impact and resonate with discerning travellers and leave a lasting impression.
Of course, we didn’t want to leave our Webflow heritage behind, which is why in 2024, Boost branched into two distinct entities:
- Boost Brands: As we evolved, Boost Design has transitioned into Boost Brands, a dedicated brand marketing agency focusing on travel and leisure. Boost Brands offers digital design and branding solutions tailored to high-end travel and leisure brands.
- Boost Dev: Continuing our legacy with Webflow, Boost Dev specialises in Webflow Design and Build, servicing all types of businesses looking to make use of the innovative Webflow platform.
Through it all, we’ve stayed committed to our core values of authenticity, collaboration, and challenging our clients with hard-hitting questions so we can deliver the best possible results. Through all our growth, none of that has changed, and we’re excited to continue building strong and unique brands that authentically mirror real-world on the ground experiences.
